How Bastinac finished the season

Bastinac hit the scoreboard with a flurry in the second half of the year. His 20 goals were enough to have him in the top five at the club, marked by seven across two consecutive weeks against Melbourne and then Geelong.

An often missed part of Bastinac's game was his sharp increase in winning the contested ball. Last season 27 per cent of his possessions were contested - this increased to 40.7 per cent in 2013.
