It was an early start for North Melbourne's players on Friday as they jetted off to the Gold Coast with Virgin Australia.

By midday the team had arrived at Metricon Stadium and after a meeting with the coaches, it took to the track in front of plenty of Kangaroos' fans decked out in royal blue and white.

The Queensland heat made for a vast change in conditions to those at Aegis Park and it was the perfect opportunity to acclimatise ahead of Saturday night's match.

Gold Coast's assistant coaches including Shaun Hart and Dean Solomon were interested onlookers in the stands during the light hit-out.

After a short session and plenty of autographs, the team bus made its way to the hotel with the players given the opportunity to rest up before a must-win clash.
