North Melbourne came into the 2018 NAB AFL Trade Period with the aim of adding speed and midfield depth to its list.

With acquisitions such as Jared Polec, Aaron Hall, Jasper Pittard and Dom Tyson, the Roos believe it’s been a successful trade window.

“We’ve done what we set out to do,” GM of football Cameron Joyce told North Media.

“Obviously through this period we’ve got four players in … it’s exciting that guys want to come here and they see some of the momentum that we’ve built off the back of the season and some of the impressive signs of our younger players as well.

“It’s good times for the footy club.”

North finalised a deal to bring former Gold Coast Sun, Hall, to Arden St on Tuesday, which was a long time in the making.

“We’re rapt to get him onboard,” Joyce said.

The 28-year-old midfielder is blessed with blistering speed and an impressive right boot, which has Joyce excited about what he can bring to the side.

“He adds a bit of a different dimension to our team,” he said.

“He’s got speed, he can kick the footy, and I think at Etihad Stadium he could certainly be a powerful player for us.

“He’s played forward and kicked some goals, he’s played in the midfield and can also play some different roles around the square as well.

“We’re excited to be able to add a bit more flexibility to our team.”

With the window open until 8.30pm AEDT on Wednesday, it seems likely North will play no further role in the trade period, unless something unexpected was to arise.

“You never know what might get thrown up a couple of days before it finishes, so we’ll be on our toes and waiting at first or second slip for anything that comes through,” Joyce added.
