SUMMARY

Last week Richmond was humiliated by Coburg and managed just three goals for the game in a 33-point defeat while Werribee dropped its match against Collingwood.

Both teams will need to bounce back to remain in touch with the top half of the ladder.

Werribee head coach John Lamont could have up to 17 North-listed players at his disposal and will be looking to claim his fifth win of the year and climb back up the ladder. Werribee currently sits in ninth place with Richmond languishing in 13th.

THE AFL CONTINGENT

North Melbourne (Werribee)

Werribee will be looking for redemption after a disappointing result against Collingwood at Avalon Airport Oval. Boosting its chances will be the likely return of Daw who was dropped from the North side this week to make way for All-Australian ruckman Todd Goldstein. Daw is vital to Werribee’s structure and will add more balance to the side.

Aaron Black will have the chance to take the lead on the VFL goal-kicking list. He’s currently 2nd with 19 goals behind the leader, Sam Dunnell from Williamstown, who is on 22.

It will be an important game for Taylor Garner who continues his return from a hamstring injury with his second consecutive appearance.

On the brink of an AFL debut after being named emergencies on recent occasions, Corey Wagner and Ryan Clarke need to keep knocking on the door by stringing together decent games at VFL level.

Richmond

Out of favour ruckman Ivan Maric is in a battle to take back his spot from Shaun Hampson and will need to impress against Braydon Preuss and Majak Daw on Saturday.

Likewise, Defender Troy Chaplin who was a late inclusion against North last week, when Dylan Grimes pulled out with hamstring tightness just before the opening bounce.

THE VFL CONTINGENT

Werribee

Tom Gribble is in a rich vein of form through the midfield while Josh Porter was one of the most dangerous forwards on the ground versus the Magpies last week.

Declan Mountford had 20 disposals and laid 7 tackles last week.
