After a dramatic few years, Trent Dumont is keen to put the past behind him and focus on a fresh start.

“I like the feeling around the club at the moment,” Dumont told AFL.com.au.

“Pre-season’s been good, it’s been solid. We’ve changed it up a little bit, just the program and obviously we’ve got a lot of new faces around so it’s a bit of a breath of fresh air.”

Charges against Dumont for an incident in 2014 were recently dropped in an Adelaide court allowing the midfielder to finally move on.

“I feel like my bond with the club has become stronger as well, because they’ve been there from the start and backed me from the start.

“It’s a big relief, also for my family as well which makes me happy.

“Obviously you had to respect the processes and (I’m) relieved that the right outcome has happened and I can move on and focus on footy.”

Now with the season on the horizon, Dumont is working towards one goal to play Round 1.

“That’s the plan,” he said.

“It’s good that it’s gone and I can move on, concentrate on footy.”
