Werribee’s clash will be live streamed on NMFC.com.au on Sunday, with thanks to the VFL and AFL Victoria.

Summary

While finals are now out of the equation for Werribee, there is still plenty left to play for.

As many as 17 Kangaroos could take the field on Sunday, all attempting to put their name in front of the North match committee heading into the final weeks of the season.

Some of the Roos – Luke McDonald, Farren Ray, Ben Jacobs, Sam Wright – are returning from injury, while others – the likes of Ryan Clarke, Robbie Nahas, Declan Mountford and Ed Vickers-Willis – will be aiming to continue their promising form or recapture their place.

Werribee’s opposition is a Footscray side aiming for a place in the top four, meaning the intensity will be high from the beginning.

Ben Jacobs will play his second game back in the VFL after injury

The AFL contingent

North Melbourne (Werribee)

There are a couple more returns this week as North’s injury list shrinks. Luke McDonald will play his first match since June, and Farren Ray his first in six weeks.

Ben Jacobs and Sam Wright continue their paths to match fitness. The former played a full game last week and will look to back that up, while the latter will build on his half played against Casey last Sunday.

The Werribee side is also strengthened by the return of Robbie Nahas and Ryan Clarke after the duo were omitted from the AFL side.

Footscray (Western Bulldogs)

AFL-listed Mitch Honeychurch is a candidate for the Liston Medal, such has been his form in the VFL this season. A consistent ball-winner, he can also move forward and be dangerous at ground level.

Veteran Will Minson will likely lead Footscray’s ruck division, with the final side to be locked in closer to game time due to a Sunday match for the AFL side.

The VFL contingent

Werribee

With Majak Daw in the AFL side, young Werribee forward Josh Porter has stepped into the VFL outfit. Through the middle, Matt Hanson and Tom Gribble have continued on their ball-winning ways, while Dane McFarlane has offered plenty of run and dash off half-back.
