North Melbourne could welcome back at least two players for its Elimination Final against Adelaide this Saturday night.

Scott Thompson and Jarrad Waite will be put through fitness tests this week, as they look to make their respective returns from injury.

Thompson missed North’s Round 23 clash against GWS with an adductor issue, while Waite has been sidelined following minor hip surgery.

North Director of Football Geoff Walsh said the duo’s availability would be known later in the week.

“The pre-finals bye has come at a good time for both Jarrad and Scott,” Walsh told NMFC.com.au.

“It’s given them both an extra week to put their hand up for selection should they get through training this week.

“We’ll know more after we see how they recover from our main session later in the week, and we’ll then decide whether they will be named in our side on Thursday.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Macmillan has been given the all clear after he failed to play out North’s Round 23 clash against the Giants.

“Jamie suffered a corky on the top of his hip early on during the game, but he recovered well and will be right to go this weekend,” Walsh added.
