After two disappointing losses in a row, North could look to the VFL for reinforcements.

Werribee has won six in a row and the Roos’ contingent has played a key role in the streak.

North also has some key players returning from injury as soon as this week, with the likes of Ben Jacobs, Sam Wright more likely to come back via the VFL.

Defenders

Jamie Macmillan (hamstring fitness) looks a certain starter if fit given his form before the bye and importance in the back half.

Sam Durdin may need another week at VFL level after suffering a concussion last week.

Daniel Nielson has emerged as a player who could be ready to take the next step up, with several strong performances for Werribee in the past month.

Midfielders

Andrew Swallow continued his fine form against the Northern Blues last week and could be ready to return, while Mitch Hibberd had a quieter game with 17 disposals, but continues to push for a recall.

Big man Braydon Preuss was dominant with 48 hit-outs and 18 disposals in his last outing and would provide some valuable support in the ruck for Todd Goldstein.

Josh Williams has been the match-day emergency already and a debut seems close for the speedy youngster.

Forwards

Majak Daw kicked three in the Tigers’ win on the weekend, while first-year player Nick Larkey went one better with four and continues to impress.
