Former North midfielder Nick Dal Santo says he is "proud" of his former club for posting another profit without the aid of pokie machines or gambling revenue.

The Roos reported a net profit of $242,656, operating surplus of $633,625 and $1.2 million yearly revenue rise on Wednesday, making it their ninth profit in the past ten years.

North is the only Victorian club without pokies and continues to lead the way.

“They’re really passionate, and I mean that word honestly, about not having pokies involved in that football club," Dal Santo told SEN.

“They are proud, it means a lot to them.

“It’s a real credit to the way they handle themselves and the fight, and what they’re prepared to sacrifice financially, for a better social and community outcome.”

Dal Santo also praised the club's award winning Huddle community program and the past influence of former chairman James Brayshaw.

“They bring a lot of kids in and have a lot of development programs for youths and teenagers," he said.

“James Brayshaw has been a huge part of that football club on the board level for a long period of time.

“A lot of people have different opinions about Jim, but in regards to getting a football club back on track, they’ve been chipping away to it.

“They’ve been fantastic.”
