Gold Goast Suns utility Pearce Hanley will miss the Round 1 clash with North Melbourne in Cairns after dislocating his shoulder.

The Irishman injured his shoulder during the Suns’ JLT Series win over his former club, the Brisbane Lions

Hanley underwent scans on his right shoulder on Monday, and was advised he would miss 4-6 weeks of action, ruling him out of the Round 1 match against the Roos’.

“It was an unfortunate incident for Pearce on the weekend, he’s had a dislocation of his right shoulder,” Gold Coast General Manager of Football Operations Jon Haines told the club’s website.

“The advice from the surgeons and our medical staff is a fairly conservative approach, so we expect the recovery period will take 4-6 weeks and at that time Pearce will be ready to play.”

Peter Wright and Sean Lemmens are also considered touch-and-go for the clash at Cazaly’s Stadium on March 24.
