Coming off the back of a big victory over the Giants in Hobart, North may look to stick with a winning formula for the trip to Optus Stadium.

But after an impressive win from the Roos' VFL side, there is plenty of players in the mix for a call-up, should the match committee opt for change.

Defenders

Sam Durdin and Ben McKay can consider themselves extremely unfortunate to be behind Robbie Tarrant and Scott Thompson for a spot in the North Melbourne back-line, with the veteran duo in strong form.

The emerging pair were outstanding in the win over Port Melbourne, and will be no doubt in the frame for senior selection in the coming weeks.

Tom Murphy had one of his best games of the season, with his 18-disposal effort off half-back impressing the coaches.

Midfielders

Luke Davies-Uniacke showed his class in the win against Port Melbourne, having 19 disposals, 6 clearances, 6 tackles and a goal to his name.

Paul Ahern continues to impress , and had another 18 disposals in a midfield role. An emergency on several occasions, it looks like an opportunity will present at some stage in the near future for the former Giant.

Forwards

Nathan Hrovat had a fine game in the VFL, with his forward pressure particularly impressive. The Roos' number eight had 21 disposals, 7 marks and made 9 tackles.

Nick Larkey continues to find the big sticks on a weekly basis, kicking another 3 goals on Saturday.

Taylor Garner has been eased back in at VFL level, but was a regular member of North's best 22 in 2017, and will no doubt be ready if called up.
