At this time of the year, it’s almost impossible to escape the chatter surrounding potential player movement.

Fans get caught-up in speculation, and to a lesser extent, so does North Melbourne’s Majak Daw.

After a career-best season, Daw is keeping a keen eye on this year’s trade period, and understands the benefit of adding some more quality players to the Roos’ list.

“If we can get some good players to our footy club to add some class to our midfield, I’ll be really happy,” he told SEN.

“They’re the type of players that can take you to the next level and help you play finals footy.

“If those players commit to our footy club, then I’ll be taking a mark down back and looking to feed it off to them because they’ll use the ball really well.”

Port Adelaide speedster Jared Polec has already voiced his desire to sign at Arden Street, which if a deal can be struck to acquire his services, will be a handy acquisition.

“I’m heavily invested and I’ve finally cemented my spot in the side, so you want good players at your footy club,” Daw said.

“You look at players like Shaun Higgins and what he’s been able to do, so hopefully it’s only a matter of time before those guys come to our footy club, which will be a good result for us.”

The 2018 player movement period will begin on Friday, October 5, when restricted and unrestricted agents can sign, while the NAB AFL Trade period is set to run from Monday, October 8 till Wednesday, October 17.
