Nick Rippon has capped off a memorable season for North Melbourne, claiming the inaugural John Law Medal on Friday night.
The accomplished 24-year-old enjoyed a stand-out first year at Arden St, joining North after a decorated stint at North Ballarat, where he lifted the JJ Listen Trophy.
Seven members of the Roos VFL coaching staff tallied their votes, determining Rippon as the best and fairest for 2018.
Lauded for his consistency on a weekly basis, Rippon was nominated for the for Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal by North’s coaching staff for his impressive campaign, listed amongst the best performed players in 15 of his 17 appearances.
Playing in a slightly deeper role, Rippon still managed to be a prolific ball-winner, averaging 22.9 disposals per game.
The rugged inside midfielder polled first ahead of Chris Jansen and Ben McKay, who were also recognised for their efforts in the season proper.
Michael Close was awarded the VFL Best Clubman Award.
