After a disappointing loss to Collingwood last weekend, North’s focus has quickly turned to Sunday’s clash with West Coast at Blundstone Arena.

With Alex Morgan withdrawn from the match with a calf complaint in the third quarter and North’s VFL team recording an impressive win, there could be some changes at the selection table.

North Media takes a look at those in the mix ahead of Round 19.

Defenders

Key defender Ben McKay continues to push for a senior recall as his performances continue to impress in the VFL. The strong intercept mark has stood tall in the absence of Sam Durdin.

Rookie Tom Murphy was listed as an AFL emergency last weekend and remains in the mix.

Midfielders

Star midfielder Ben Jacobs missed North’s clash with Collingwood with concussion and neck issues on Saturday, and remains a day-to-day proposition. If fit, there’s no doubt he’ll be straight back into the side.

Braydon Preuss has found his season-best form in recent weeks, but will likely be forced to wait in the VFL given Todd Goldstein’s performances over the past month.

Forwards

First-year player Will Walker performed well again in the VFL, collecting 23 disposals and laying 7 tackles. He continues to edge closer to an AFL debut.

Mason Wood is a chance to return against the Eagles if his hamstring is ticked off by the medical staff this week.. Like Jacobs, expect to see Wood injected into the senior side if fit.

Young emerging forward Nick Larkey remains in the selection frame given the absence of Wood and Waite from the side.
