For the first time since Round 10, North will have its dynamic four-pronged attack consisting of Ben Brown, Jarrad Waite, Mason Wood and Jack Ziebell back in action.

Saturday will be just the fourth time this season the quartet has lined up together, and fans have a reason to be excited given the danger they pose to opposition defences.

Ben Brown (53), Jack Ziebell (28), Jarrad Waite (22) and Mason Wood (17) are North’s top four goal-scorers this season, and when united inside the forward 50, are a force to be reckoned with.

The four first came together in Round 8, when they kicked six of North’s 11 goals, in Round 9 they dominated by slotting 13 of the side’s 17 goals, and the following week, they combined for seven of the Roos’ 12.

That means, when all four line up in the same side, they are responsible for 72 per cent of North’s majors.

Brown thrives off having Wood, Waite and Ziebell alongside him, evident by the fact he averages 3.3 goals per game with them, and 2.8 without them.

Without his partners in crime, Brown has often found himself battling two, sometimes three defenders, but with them, it forces opposition defenders to remain accountable given the goal-scoring threat Waite and Wood impose.

The Brisbane match will be 35-year-old Jarrad Waite’s return game from a calf injury, and he’ll be hoping he can build on the red-hot form he was in prior to getting injured.

In his most recent eight matches, Waite impressed with a total of 22 goals, which included one two-goal performance, five three-goal outings and a bag of four.

It also allows coach Brad Scott to be more flexible with Ziebell, who may be able to play more time through the midfield given there would still be sufficient avenues to goal inside 50.

The small forwards also benefit from having the big four in the side, with Kayne Turner able to focus on his pressure acts inside 50.

Turner, who’s role in the side is to apply forward pressure, laid a third of his tackles for the season between rounds 8 and 10.
