North Melbourne is thrilled to welcome two new partnerships with Flemington Community Bank and PSC Insurance joining the club.

Flemington Community Bank, a branch of Bendigo Bank, has partnered North as part of a two-year agreement to become the official community banking partner of the Roos’ VFL team, VFLW side in Melbourne University Women’s Football Club and award winning not-for-profit arm, The Huddle.

The agreement further highlights the ongoing support of Flemington Community Bank’s support of diversity, inclusiveness and grassroots football in the local community.

As a presenting partner of The Huddle, it will work closely with participants on financial education including lifelong money and saving skills.

North Melbourne GM Community Engagement, Cameron McLeod, said the partnership will be vital.

“The community is our focus, the more we can do in that space the better and this partnership will certainly open some doors for us and will be of great value to those we work with,” he said.

“We are passionate about partnerships that support the young people and their families to strengthen education and employment pathways and create a sense of belonging for our community’s services and teaching life-long skills is something we are passionate about.”

Flemington Community Bank’s Board Chair, Annabel Rees, views the partnership as a win all around.

“Having a partner like North Melbourne enables us to make a more significant and immediate difference, benefitting both the women’s and men’s VFL teams and The Huddle. In turn, the more support for the branch that we garner, the more it allows us to invest further in the local community.

“Our branch team and board members are enthusiastic about the hands on volunteering opportunities that this partnership presents. Our hope for this partnership is equally about creating social inclusion and opportunities for the players and those involved with The Huddle to gain valuable financial life skills as well as potential work experience, internships and career opportunities.”

Leading national insurance brokerage, PSC Insurance Brokers, has signed for one year as an official partner of the AFL team and major partner of the VFL side.

PSC Insurance Brokers’ Commercial Manager, Darren Fenech, is excited to partner as the club enters an exciting era.

“The club is making significant investments into the community, and its on-field endeavours, and we’re very much looking forward to partnering with them as they continue their evolution,” he said.

“A principle focus of the PSC Insurance Group is fostering partnerships both nationally and internationally with community minded organisations. The North Melbourne Football Club has for many years demonstrated its desire to be at the forefront of many community-based initiatives, especially social cohesiveness and welfare. We see a natural alignment relative to common characteristics and interests and we think we can contribute to their goals and aspirations in a meaningful way.”

North GM Commercial and Strategy Nick Haslam said the club was excited by the opportunities both partnerships create.

“PSC Insurance Brokers are as passionate as we are when it comes to investing in our grassroots football and providing pathways into the most elite competition,” he said.

“They are a fantastic business and we are really proud to be associated with them.”

PSC Insurance Brokers will feature on signage in the changerooms at home and away AFL games, on the front and back of the VFL guernsey and throughout North’s extensive business network.
