With both the AFL and VFL teams having enjoyed brilliant wins over the weekend, the North Melbourne match committee will have some positive selection headaches for this Sunday’s clash with the Brisbane Lions.

North Media has previewed those that are in the mix for a call-up.

Defenders

Majak Daw was given an extra rest for the trip to Perth and could be ready for a return.

Ben McKay has been solid all season in the VFL, and he continued his good form in Saturday’s big win.

The key-position prospect had 15 disposals and 6 marks in the backline.

Midfielders

Paul Ahern continues to show why he was rated so highly in his draft class, with Saturday’s performance again full of class.

The silky on-baller had 27 disposals, 7 clearances and 8 inside-50 s, with his ball use a standout.

Kyron Hayden had his strongest game yet in the VFL, as he continues to improve following a shoulder reconstruction.

The powerful young midfielder had 23 disposals and a goal, and was dangerous whenever he was involved.

Braydon Preuss put in another dominant display in the ruck and around the ground.

The towering ruckman had 48 hit-outs, and 17 disposals.

Forwards

Cameron Zurhaar has been in fine form this season, and his push for a senior recall gained momentum on Saturday.

Zurhaar had 18 disposals, 6 tackles and kicked 4 goals in a dominant forward performance.

It was another week for Nick Larkey, and another bag of goals.

Larkey continues to dominate in the VFL, taking another 6 marks and kicking another 5 goals.

Nathan Hrovat was the travelling emergency for the trip to Perth, suggesting a return isn’t too far away.
