After bringing up the first win of the season, the mood in the North Melbourne rooms was upbeat.

NMFC.com.au talked to many of the key contributors for their thoughts on the victory.

Jed Anderson

“(I’m) really happy to be back out there. Still finding the tempo but it’s good to be back out there and get the win with the boys.

“Just to get in front and hold the lead, the boys dug deep in the end and we got it in the end.”

Ben Brown

“Those guys (the first-time winners) have been waiting for a few weeks now so it was awesome to get them in the middle of the circle.

“The (Gatorade) shower is always a fun part of the year and particularly seeing as it was our first win after a couple of close losses.”

Taylor Garner

“Finally after five losses we’ve put one together, it’s a great feeling. All the boys played really well and hopefully keep going from now.

“Being back out there now, I’m happy to be out there playing a part for the side.”

Luke McDonald

“I pushed up the field a bit more, could have had two (goals) tonight, but I think if I kicked the second there would have been too much carry on.

“I’m not playing as much in the backline, playing more on the wing and even half-forward a bit. I’m loving the change up and it feels a lot more natural.”

Jy Simpkin

“It was unreal, finally got a win on the board and the boys loved it.

“It’s a lot different to the first five weeks that’s for sure, all the boys are up and about and it’s awesome.

“It’s been an unreal experience to be out there and I’m happy I’m doing my little part.”

Ed Vickers-Willis

“It was pretty good to be out there, we all dream of our first game and more importantly our first win.

“It was a tough loss last week so this week … was very special and very sticky now (after the Gatorade shower).

“Today it’s just electric in here and all the boys are really pleased to finally finish the job and play four quarters of footy.”

Mason Wood

“It’s been a long time since I’ve had a win so getting that win … jubilation.

“We’re starting to work well (up forward), it’s a little bit of a different look with Waitey (Jarrad Waite) out at the minute and we’ll gel as the year goes on.

“Tonight was Browny’s (Ben Brown’s) night but there was a lot of unsung heroes going around.”
