North forward Majak Daw says he “can’t wait” to play in his first ever AFL final.

The 25-year-old will also make his Adelaide Oval debut on Saturday night, and told NMFC.com.au he was eager to make an impact in September.

“I’ve been here at the club seven years and I finally get to play in my first final, I can’t wait,” Daw said.

“We’ve had the time to watch other finals to see how the other teams play, I’m really looking forward to it and something I’ve worked towards for a long time.”

There was speculation about Daw’s position in the side and the number 38 said it wasn’t until mid-week that he got the news he'd be playing.

“I found out on Wednesday. Our forwards coach ‘Lurker’ (Leigh Tudor) came up to me and just said you’re going to play this week and shook my hand. I was excited.

“I was nervous all week (about) what was going to happen, if I was going to play or not play.”

Daw said he had since sought out advice from his more seasoned teammates, as he prepared to run out before a parochial Adelaide crowd.

“I’ve spoken to a few guys, we trained there (Adelaide Oval) last night. They say because there’s more at stake, there’s no next week or another game (if we lose), you’ve just got to be on and everything you do has to be on song.

“I’m ready and ready for my opportunity and it’s something I’ve worked towards, I think I’ll be more nervous come the game, but for now I’ll take it easy.”
