North Melbourne faces a huge challenge when it travels to Adelaide to face the Crows on Thursday night, putting the team in an interesting position AFL Fantasy-wise.

A Thursday night game will give those playing most forms of the fantasy game the ability to loophole a captain’s score due to rolling lockouts.

Essentially how this works is because not all players become locked on Thursday night, you can name a Thursday player as vice-captain and then if you like their score, deliberately name a not-already-locked player who won’t play this week as your captain, ensuring you get the vice-captain score.

So who are some good options to do this with this week? North has got a number of players with the potential to score big.
Todd Goldstein is probably the best choice as North’s most consistent fantasy performer, but Jack Ziebell could also be a good option.

In addition to these two, North has Andrew Swallow and Ben Cunnington returning to the side this week – Swallow in particular can put up big scores on occasion thanks to his spectacular tackling numbers.

Moving on to the rest of the team, it’s safe to say that we at Footy Prophet are pretty impressed with Trent Dumont, naming him our fantasy rookie of the week.

The only concern for him is that his scoring power is at its best when he is in the middle of the ground, and that might not be the case as much tonight with Swallow and Cunnington back in the side.

Mason Wood also impresses us a great deal, getting a profile as Footy Prophet’s ‘Eyecatcher’ of the week. Although his kicking for goal wasn’t ideal, he probably played his best AFL game so far against the Hawks.
