Brad Scott will have the opportunity to experiment with a new forward-line when North takes on Collingwood in Wagga.

While Drew Petrie has been retained in the side for the Saturday afternoon encounter, he’ll be surrounded by some different talls with Ben Brown and Aaron Black named in the 29-man squad. Jarrad Waite will sit out while at ground level Brent Harvey, Shaun Higgins, Kayne Turner and Jed Anderson won’t make the trip.

A raft of experienced players including Ben Cunnington, Michael Firrito, Sam Wright, Shaun Atley and Scott Thompson will also remain in Melbourne.

Such is North’s depth however, the side will still be a strong one with several big name players set to feature in their first game of the year.

Reigning best and fairest, all-Australian ruckman Todd Goldstein is back along with veterans Nick Dal Santo and Daniel Wells.

As revealed on Wednesday on NMFC.com.au, Lachlan Hansen makes his return after shaking off some niggling injuries following the 2015 season. Ben Jacobs and Sam Gibson will also have the chance to blow out some cobwebs after recovering from respective foot and ankle concerns.

The match could also present an opportunity for draftees Mitchell Hibberd and Declan Mountford to experience their first taste of AFL level competition.
