When it comes to making a statement to the match committee there’s knocking on the door and there’s knocking the door down. Mason Wood achieved the latter after registering 36 touches and 3 goals in the VFL with Werribee last week and has been rewarded with his first AFL game of the year.

The agile forward will play his ninth career game on Sunday, after being named in North's final team, hosted by Airbnb.

The 22-year-old has been in good form recently, and had a four-goal game in the NAB Challenge series. He replaces the injured Taylor Garner in team to take on Fremantle, with North looking to win its fourth match in a row.

Despite being promoted off the rookie list, Farren Ray will have to wait a little longer before representing the Kangaroos. He’s been named as an emergency along with Kayne Turner and Lachlan Hansen.
