AFL Fantasy is back for another season, and the team at Footy Prophet will again be supplying NMFC.com.au with premium fantasy analysis and tips for the 2015 season.

Despite a disappointing loss, a solid first-half effort by North Melbourne was enough to see a lot of players achieve good fantasy scores.

The highlight of the afternoon against Collingwood was a great performance from Todd Goldstein, who managed 51 hit-outs to go with 19 disposals, 8 marks and a goal for 133 fantasy points. After a lean couple of weeks at the fantasy table, it was enough to reaffirm his status as one of the best fantasy ruckmen in the competition.

Shaun Higgins also hit the triple figure mark for the second week running, recording 20 disposals, 6 tackles and kicking a goal for 104 points. He continues to provide good fantasy value as a defender for those who bought him in AFL Fantasy Classic, or drafted him in AFL Fantasy Elite.

Jarrad Waite was busy early but quiet later on. He kicked two first half goals for the Roos and also one late to finish with three for the match. He also had nine marks on his way to 96 points.

Jack Ziebell continued his run of good form with another solid performance. While he only had 17 disposals, Ziebell recorded 11 tackles to boost himself to a score of 95. Ben Cunnington wasn’t far behind on 93.

One of North’s most appealing was young midfielder Trent Dumont. In his first full game at AFL level he recorded 18 disposals, 7 clearances and 10 tackles for 87 fantasy points in just 68 per cent game time.

His spot in the side is by no means guaranteed for the long term but performances like this should keep him in good standing. At $150,000, he could make some serious cash for his owners in AFL Fantasy Classic.

Drew Petrie also had a decent score for the day with 87, and Brent Harvey was solid with 77 without being spectacular.
Andrew Swallow was a late withdrawal before the game, but will put his hand up to play against West Coast on Sunday.

Around the Grounds

It was a week of big fantasy scores with one of the most entertaining match ups being the superstar battle between Nathan Fyfe and Patrick Dangerfield at Adelaide Oval.

Fyfe narrowly won out with 150 points over Dangerfield’s 147, and the Dockers also managed to get the win over the Crows.

The Hawks had a comfortable win against Gold Coast in Launceston and it showed. Liam Shiels racked up a round-high 154 points while Luke Hodge (131), Brad Hill (120), Taylor Duryea (118), Isaac Smith (116), Sam Mitchell (108), Josh Gibson (107), Brian Lake (103) and Billy Hartung (100) made for nine Hawks in total to score in triple figures.

Dayne Beams was the third and final player to crack the 150 mark on the weekend with a 152 in Brisbane’s loss to the Saints. Fantasy gun Tom Rockliff re-broke three ribs in that same match and is likely to miss a couple of games as a result.
