After being named on the emergency list for North, emerging trio Max Warren, Kayne Turner and Majak Daw will be hoping to press their claims for a call-up.

But with both North Ballarat and Werribee’s matches clashing with the Kangaroos’ Sunday fixture, at least one of the three is likely to be held over as a match-day emergency.

For Warren, his presence in the initial 25-man North squad tops off a positive week; he was promoted to the club’s senior list on Thursday and is now well and truly in the frame to play his second career game in the latter part of the season.

Warren has been a strong contributor for the Roosters all year and could be vital against Geelong at Eureka Stadium.

Both Turner and Daw could be in action in a vital clash for Werribee at Windy Hill, against Essendon.

The fifth (Essendon) and sixth (Werribee) placed teams will face off at midday.

The Tigers will boast as many as seven North-listed players, with Mason Wood looking to continue his strong form at the level in attack, alongside Daw and Turner.

Kieran Harper has slowly been building in recent weeks and will aim to impress again, while Scott McMahon is doing everything right in defence.

Will Fordham will be at the feet of Eric Wallace in the ruck.

The call-ups of Robin Nahas and Aaron Mullett could make the task a little tougher for North Ballarat, but Gerard FitzGerald’s team will be bolstered by the return of Ryan Bastinac through the midfield.

North’s number 3 will team up with an in-form Brad McKenzie and Trent Dumont, roving to rookie Braydon Preuss.

Aaron Black will hope to hit the scoreboard in the forward half, with Joel Tippett given the job of stopping the Cats’ dangerous forwards at the opposite end.
