North Melbourne has signed energy retailer Powershop as its official membership partner for the next three years.
Powershop will feature on all membership collateral and provide great deals to the North faithful.
North CEO & Managing Director Carl Dilena said the partnership – now in its second year - was a perfect fit.
“Powershop is an amazing organisation and one we’re delighted to continue working closely with,” Mr Dilena said.
“A recent, independent Canstar Blue survey found Powershop customers gave the company a perfect score when it comes to value for money, customer service, satisfaction, range of plans and energy advice.
“Powershop’s brand and values certainly fit with our way of thinking.”
Powershop CEO Ed McManus said the company was thrilled to have re-signed with North for at least the next three years.
“We like the way North Melbourne operates, on and off the field,” Mr McManus said.
“The club’s principles are strong, which is evident by their stance on accepting no gaming revenue. We prefer to partner with organisations like North that don’t rely on pokies. North has shown it can be done and they’ve made a profound statement in that sense.”
Mr McManus said as part of the sponsorship, North members will receive offers to help lower their electricity costs.
The partnership has also been welcomed by a member of Federal Parliament, with Senator Nick Xenophon commending North Melbourne and Powershop for working together.
“This is great news for a community-oriented club that has made a gutsy decision not to rely on the pokies,” Mr Xenophon said.
“I’ve been to the club’s headquarters and what they have done in terms of community engagement, providing mentoring for young people and great study facilities and tutoring is amazing. You can really feel the community spirit and the way it transforms lives.
“Powershop has teamed up with a great bunch of people.”
