North Melbourne’s successful Boomer 400 memorabillia campaign has been officially recognised at an AFL awards ceremony.

The club won the 2015 Best Club and Licensee collaboration at the AFL’s Consumer Products Christmas Breakfast for the way it developed, promoted and implemented its ‘Boomer 400’ campaign, celebrating Brent Harvey’s 400th game played in Round 17.

As part of the momentous occasion, North, together with the club’s apparel partner Canterbury, produced a one-off jumper which quickly sold out, forcing a second run of jumpers.

Other unique merchandise was also developed to celebrate the efforts of Harvey, who is on track to break Michael Tuck’s all-time games record in 2016.

North GM – Consumer Business & New Markets Dino Imbriano praised everyone at the club for their efforts during the milestone.

“Everyone from ‘Boomer’ through to our marketing, media and membership teams put in a big effort to make this event truly special, giving fans a chance to share in a very historic achievement,” Imbriano said.

“We might not see any other players make it to the 400 game milestone in the near future, so it was certainly an important milestone to celebrate and we are all proud of what we were able to achieve with this special campaign.”

Other licensees involved in the ‘Boomer 400’ program included Canterbury, SE Products, Playcorp, Licensing Essentials, Trofe and Sporting Souvenirs

The Roos were the only club to win an award at the event.
