North’s VFL side suffered its second consecutive defeat on the weekend, going down to Footscray by 41 points.
North Media spoke with senior assistant coach Gavin Brown about some of the eye-catching performers.

“Luke did some really nice stuff, and most of it was AFL-quality.
“His ability to get out of traffic was outstanding.
“Three or four times he had some elite exits from congestion to break out and create some really damaging play for us.”

“Nick was really good, he kicked two goals.
“He competed all day in two-on-ones and one-on-ones and brought the ball the ground every time.
“He could have taken a few more marks and had a couple more shots on goal, but he was serviceable on what was a tough day at the office.”

“Will really stood out.
“He kicked two goals and took seven marks and made a real impact on the game.
“He’s strung a few together now and continues to impress.”

“Kyron did some good things.
“He would have been in our best and did some real AFL-quality things.
“He’s just got to work on his consistency, but took some really good marks, competed really well and laid some strong tackles.”

“Tristan was pretty solid.
“He competed really well in the centre bounces against an AFL experienced ruckman in Jordan Roughead.
“He made some really strong defensive efforts.
“He took some really strong marks late in the game which was a real positive for us.”
