It could be the most debated team selection of the season. A host of niggling injuries make this week’s 22 extremely tough to pick for North Melbourne.

With the reigning premiers waiting on Friday night, a lot is on the line.

Have your say on any potential changes in the comments.

Midfielders

The centre of the ground is up for most debate. With Andrew Swallow (concussion), Ben Cunnington (quad) and Nick Dal Santo (groin) all in doubt this week, the opportunity is there for those in the VFL.

Both Trent Dumont and Farren Ray were withdrawn from the VFL last Sunday, potentially indicating they could be the first two in line for changes.

However, Ryan Clarke (29 disposals) found a lot of the ball for the Tigers, throwing his name into contention.

Forwards

Robbie Nahas’ compound fracture of the finger offers an opportunity to the small-forwards on North’s list.

Corey Wagner was the third withdrawal from the VFL, and with impressive form in recent weeks is every chance to make his AFL debut – the first of the 2015 draft class if he does so.

Majak Daw was also limited to a half on Sunday, the low game-time ensuring he’s in the mix for a senior recall.

The smoky could be Lachlan Hansen. Thrown forward in the last quarter for Werribee, he kicked three goals and finished with 26 disposals for the afternoon.

Defenders

Down back, the concern is Shaun Atley’s ankle injury.

In the VFL, Mitchell Hibberd collected 24 disposals, while Ed Vickers-Willis continued to improve with 25 disposals of his own.

Hansen could also be a selection in the defensive half, playing well for the first three quarters in the VFL before moving closer to goal.
