It was another eventful season for Thomas and he was the focus of the football world after inadvertently breaking the leg of Swan Gary Rohan in Round 4 at the SCG.
While he was cleared at the tribunal after being cited by the Match Review Panel, Thomas was later dropped after the Round 8 loss to Port Adelaide on the verge of his 100th game.
He returned to the side in Round 12 with a renewed focus and proceeded to turn in arguably the most consistent stretch of his career. Thomas kicked 16 goals in the next seven weeks while not exceeding three in any one match. Even in the game where he went goalless (Richmond), he popped up with a crucial late smother with the match in the balance.
Thomas has re-signed for a further two years meaning he'll be at North until the end of 2014.
