Brisbane vice-captain Dayne Zorko says the Lions will try to use their pace to secure the points this weekend.

Zorko said his side’s contigent of small forwards, also known as the ‘Mozzie Squad’, would aim to “worry” the Roos with fast footy.

"We've got Allen Christensen who is flying at the moment, Lewis Taylor, add Josh Green into the mix and hopefully we can worry North Melbourne," Zorko told AFL.com.au.

"We want to score, we want to make it entertaining for the fans, we need to kick a score to win - it's as simple as that.

“We've got a very young, energetic, fast team."

Zorko said Brisbane would take a lot of confidence out of their high scoring loss to the Eagles in Round 1.

“For any team that can go over to the west and kick 100 points against a team that played in the Grand Final last year is a really good effort,” he said.

Zorko will play his first game of the season this Saturday, and after two losses to the Roos in 2015, said the Lions were aiming to turn the tables on Brad Scott’s side, with a simple formula.

“You win contested ball, you generally win the game.”
