Daniel Currie will line up for Werribee this Easter Saturday after narrowly missing out on a senior call up for North Melbourne’s game against Collingwood.

The 201cm big man was a stand-out during the pre-season playing every game throughout the NAB Cup campaign, even carrying the ruck load on his own against Geelong.

Currie might be going it alone again for the Tigers with Majak Daw named in the Kangaroos initial squad of 25.

Werribee could also be missing Taylor Hine and Will Sierakowski in the hit out against Port Melbourne, as the pair has both been listed alongside Daw in the North squad.

Levi Greenwood and new recruit Jordan Gysberts will play in the yellow and black as they both aim to impress the coaches and push their case for senior selection.

Ayden Kennedy, Ben Speight and youngsters Mason Wood and Tim McGenniss will also play for the Tigers in the season opener against the reining VFL premiers.

North Ballarat will play an intra-club game this weekend as they prepare for their first match next Saturday against Collingwood at Victoria Park.
