The glittering career of Brent Harvey will hit another high on Saturday afternoon. When the first siren sounds at Blundstone Arena, Harvey will move into equal fifth on the all-time AFL games list, equalling Simon Madden at 378.

Madden marks the fourth great of the game that Harvey has chased down on the list in 2014. After starting the season on 362 games, Harvey equalled Brad Johnson (364 games) in Round 2, Bernie Quinlan (366 games) in Round 4 and Craig Bradley (375 games) in Round 14.

By the end of the season, Harvey could be in fourth place overall. He is on pace to equal Robert Harvey (383 games) in Round 22 if he plays every game until the clash against Adelaide, also at Blundstone Arena.

The gap between Harvey and the only current player ahead of him, Dustin Fletcher, has been steadily closing with each passing year. Despite Fletcher having played an extra three seasons, he is just 13 games ahead of the former Kangaroos’ captain.

Harvey could also notch another milestone on Saturday afternoon. He is only two goals away from reaching 450 for his career. It’s an achievement only 65 players have accomplished in the history of the AFL; three of whom are Kangaroos – Wayne Carey (671), John Longmire (511) and Jock Spencer (475).
