North Melbourne’s Lindsay Thomas could get a head-start on his team-mates in preparation for the new season after he was named in the Indigenous All-Stars squad.

The All-Stars will take on Richmond in Alice Springs on February 8, with former Swan Michael O’Loughlin to coach and Hawthorn’s Lance Franklin named as captain.

Thomas has been a stand-out on the training track throughout the pre-season and will be looking to make an early impression, while former Kangaroo Aaron Edwards could be in line for his debut in Tigers’ colours.

Extreme weather caused by the remnants of Cyclone Yasi forced last year match to be cancelled.

The exhibition game is scheduled just four days before North’s first intraclub hit-out.
