Seven new faces will take the field in North Melbourne’s opening JLT Community Series fixture on Saturday.

Five recruits with previous AFL experience and two draftees have been named in the Roos’ 26 for the clash against St Kilda.

Midfield recruits Jared Polec (former Port Adelaide), Aaron Hall (Gold Coast) and Dom Tyson (Melbourne), defender Jasper Pittard (Port) and ruckman Tom Campbell (Western Bulldogs) will play their first games in the royal blue and white.

2018 NAB AFL Draft selections Tarryn Thomas (pick 8) and Bailey Scott (pick 49) also have the chance to impress.

For Scott, the hit-out will be a valuable experience.

“It’s a good opportunity to play against some AFL players on the big stage,” Scott told North Media.

"It’s another step up from the Under 18’s competition, so it’s a great opportunity.”

North will be missing Scott Thompson, Majak Daw and Robbie Tarrant in defence, opening up an opportunity for the likes of Ben McKay and Tom Murphy to put their hands up for selection.

Avalon Airport Oval in Werribee will play host to the Roos’ opening pre-season fixture, with the first bounce at 1.10pm.

The players will have a final training run at Arden Street on Friday, from around 11.30am.
