They’re a team that’s shown no fear this season under new coach Paul Roos, but the Demons know to expect their opponent’s best this weekend.

Melbourne is looking to win back-to-back games for the first time since 2011, and has lost its last 11 matches against North.

"We know the Kangaroos are a very dangerous team and they've played some terrific footy this year," Roos said.

"They're a high scoring team. When they're playing their best footy, they play good contested footy as well."

While history looks to be against the Demons, their recent form suggests no challenge is too great

A last-gasp win against Essendon last week was one of the club’s finest in recent years, and the feeling around the group is one of enthusiasm.

"It's a real collective effort – everyone's working really hard – and that's the good thing about what happened on Sunday, you get a bit of reward for that hard work."

Having already doubled their win tally from 2013, Melbourne has reason to be optimistic about its future. But Roos has warned his players not to get ahead of themselves.

"We're still only a four-win team, a battling team and a team that needs to work really hard on a weekly basis," he added.

"We're still trying to find our way and get our respect back and we're still trying to climb the ladder.

"We still know we're still a long way away from being a really top side, there's no doubt about that.”
