The Kangaroos are proud to announce the club has surpassed 2000 AFLW members for the first time.

The membership milestone comes off the back of the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos promising 2021 campaign, and as excitement builds ahead of the club's 2022 AFLW season opener against Geelong at Arden St Oval on Saturday, January 8.

Both the AFL and AFLW programs are on track for record membership campaigns, with the men’s program surpassing 35,000 members before Christmas for the first time in club history. The total currently sits at 36,557.

With the addition of number one draft pick Jason Horne-Francis to the club's existing crop of young talent. North’s developing AFL side looks set to continue its build in 2022 as it looks to launch itself up the ladder.

The AFLW membership milestone breaks the previous record of 1405 members set at the end of the 2021 season, while the new record comes three weeks before the season has even started.

The support of the Kangaroos faithful will be a huge boost for the side led by captain Emma Kearney and senior coach Darren Crocker, as they head into their 2022 campaign.
