In what ended up being a disappointing afternoon at Blundstone Arena for North Melbourne, Scott Thompson was a lone standout, receiving votes from the coaches.

Playing on Sydney key forward Sam Reid, Thompson was rated as 'outstanding' by senior coach Brad Scott, after keeping Reid goalless.

Thompson collected 19 possessions and 9 marks himself to kick-start many North rebounds. The key defender has only had three games with more than 9 marks in his 96-game career.

It's Thompson's first coaches votes of the season. In 2012 he had 25 votes across five matches, with two perfect 10's.
