A small and intelligent pressure forward, Jack Mahony was drafted by North Melbourne having played the bulk of his junior football in the midfield.
With the clean hands and tackle pressure that comes to a natural midfielder, but the forward craft and goal-sense of an emerging forward, Mahony’s evolution as a player during his time at North Melbourne has seen him become and integral part of not just North’s forward line, but also its defensive structure.

2022: In his third year at the club, Mahony continued to develop his craft as a small forward across 13 games at senior level.
After enjoying a purple patch of form in the opening month of the season that saw Mahony record four-straight double-digit disposal performances, an ankle injury sidelined the pressure forward prior to Round 10.
He was in and out of the starting squad from then on but remains a solid part of North's growing youthful core.
