When Aiden Bonar finished equal-second in the 20-metre sprint at the 2017 NAB AFL Draft Combine, on the same day as breaking the standing vertical jump record, it was clear he boasted outstanding athleticism.

While injuries have affected his ability to enjoy a clear run at AFL level, Bonar impressed in his ten games at AFL level in 2021.

That trademark speed and agility was on show in a defensive role, taking on the likes of Patrick Dangerfield, as he found himself at the top of the Syd Barker leaderboard in the early rounds.

Despite limited game time, Bonar was tracked as the Roos' fastest player this season, hitting a top speed of 35.23 kilometres per hour by the Telstra Tracker.

He ranked as the ninth quickest player in the league in 2021.

'The Bull' Cameron Zurhaar was next best, reaching 34.27km/h, while Tom Powell, Aaron Hall and Jaidyn Stephenson rounded out the top five at North.
