Sam Wright hasn’t played since North’s opening round loss to Essendon and will be hoping to enjoy his first AFL win for the year after being named to play against Brisbane on Saturday.

The 23-year-old, now in his sixth year, played 16 games in 2013 and averaged 12 disposals, but has struggled for consistency.

His 7 possessions against the Bombers in Round One resulted in his omission from the side and relegation to the VFL with Werribee.

In his last outing for the Tigers, he had 28 touches and 6 marks which pleased development coach Gavin Brown.

“Sam had a lot of the footy and was really solid defensively. He ran really hard from the back half. He had a really complete second half performance.”

That performance, together with several others in the ‘twos’, more than enough to secure a recall to the ‘seniors’ from Brad Scott and the match committee.

Wright joins his captain Andrew Swallow in the 22 with Robbie Nahas the third change to the side that fell to the Gold Coast
.
Nathan Grima has been pulled out with a foot injury (sustained against the Suns) while Michael Firrito and Brad McKenzie have been dropped.

As expected, Daniel Wells will need at least another week to recover from a severely bruised foot.
