Most players are in for a shock when pre-season begins, but for the Kangaroos it’s a contrast in conditions which has been the hardest to come to terms with.

On their first day back from holidays, the first to four year players were confronted with oppressive heat and were forced to train with the sun belting down on them in Carlton. But just two days later, it was the opposite.

With gale force winds, several showers and a temperature at around 12 degrees, the boys were well tested out at Craigieburn.

The harsh conditions made skills drills difficult while the running sessions were harrowing with a strong head-wind making the going extremely tough.
