North Melbourne attempted to claim Lachlan Hunter, the son of former Western Bulldogs’ player Mark Hunter, with Pick 35 after father/son bidding concluded at Etihad Stadium on Monday. However under the rules, the Dogs were able to secure him with pick 46.
At 181 cm and 78 kg, Hunter is a left-footed midfielder who can also play forward. He represented Vic Metro at the AFL Under 18 National Championships and earned a spot in the TAC Cup Team of the year after his performances for the Western Jets.
Trade Week will now commence, with all clubs meeting throughout a three week period.
