Drew Petrie was one of the Dream Team bargains of 2011 after he returned from a 2010 season ravaged by three separate broken feet.

Petrie comes with a far heftier initial price tag this season but he showed against the Blues at Visy Park on Sunday that he will be well worth the investment. The North vice-captain's seven-goal, 10-mark performance against the Blues earned him a game-high 122 Dream Team points.

Petrie's skipper, Andrew Swallow, was North's leading Dream Team scorer last season and he again looks to be a dependable high-scoring midfield option. Swallow racked up 102 points against the Blues to be the Kangaroos' second highest scorer.

The other Kangaroo who should have draw interest is third-year defender Jamie Macmillan, who racked up 82 points and showed the sort of composure that could help him cement a regular senior position with North in 2012.

kangaroos.com.au will post a Dream Team wrap on each of its players on Tuesday.
