The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have finalised their list for the 2023 AFLW season after signing utility Lucy Burke.

Burke joins the from the Southern Saints in the VFLW, where she has played 33 games across three seasons and was named in the 2021 VFLW Team of the Year.

The 25-year-old also featured in 12 games at AFLW level as replacement player for St Kilda in 2022.

North Melbourne AFLW list manager Flynn Loft said the club looked forward to watching Burke further her development at Arden St.

“We are excited to welcome Lucy to North Melbourne,” Loft said.

“We believe she will be a great addition to our program, with her ability to play all over the ground as a defender, forward or ruck.

“Lucy is a terrific person, and we know she will make the most of the opportunity to further her development through our program.”

Burke’s opportunity at North Melbourne comes after veteran defender Danielle Hardiman announced her retirement from football in April.

She is the seventh new player to join the club ahead of the upcoming season, alongside Kate Shierlaw, Lulu Pullar, Eliza Shannon, Liz McGrath, Niamh Martin and Ruby Tripodi.
