North Melbourne will head to Sydney to kick off its 2024 campaign after the fixture for the upcoming Toyota AFL Premiership Season was released on Thursday.

The Kangaroos will face 2023 preliminary finalists Greater Western Sydney at GIANTS Stadium in Round 1 before back-to-back home games against Fremantle and Carlton at Marvel Stadium in Rounds 2 and 3 – the first two games of the season at the redeveloped venue, giving North Melbourne fans the first chance to experience all that the new-look Marvel Stadium has to offer.

For the second year running, North Melbourne will host Carlton in the Good Friday SuperClash after the sixth edition of the club’s marquee game in 2023 drew a record crowd of 49,062 and raised a total of $247,145 for the Royal Children’s Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal.

The Kangaroos’ other five home games at Marvel Stadium in 2023 will come against Hawthorn, Collingwood, the Western Bulldogs, Gold Coast and Richmond.

The Roos will also play four away games at the venue, including against Essendon in the first week of Sir Doug Nicholls Round, and two other Victorian-based games against Geelong at GMHBA Stadium and Melbourne under the lights at the MCG.

Tasmanian fans will have the opportunity to watch the Kangaroos five times across the season, including four home games at Blundstone Arena in Hobart against Adelaide, Port Adelaide, Geelong and West Coast and against Hawthorn at UTAS Stadium in Launceston in the final round of the home-and-away season.

The team will travel to Sydney for a second time in the season to take on the Swans, as well as to Adelaide, Darwin and Perth each once.

"This fixture is a really positive result for the club from both a football and fan perspective," North Melbourne CEO Jennifer Watt said.

"We host a great mix of teams at our Melbourne home of Marvel Stadium, including Carlton on Good Friday again after a record crowd in 2023 and two other big Victorian clubs in Collingwood and Richmond later in the season.

"We are thrilled that our first two home games at Marvel Stadium in 2024 will also be the first two AFL games played at the venue since being redeveloped. Our members and fans will be the first to enjoy all that the new-look Marvel Stadium has to offer, including new and improved amenities and food and beverage outlets.

"Spread across the season are our four games at Blundstone Arena in Hobart. After finishing season 2023 with a win at the venue, we are looking forward to being back at our home away from home next year."
