Nine potential future Kangaroos and their Shinboner fathers visited Arden St on Tuesday as the club celebrated its annual father-son day. 

The father-sons hit the track for a skills session, then joined the North Melbourne AFL team as the Kangaroos warmed up for their main training.

Hudson Harvey, aged 13, said he was hoping to follow in the footsteps of his father, games record-holder Brent Harvey.

"My dad was a small forward, kind of the same as me," Hudson said at Arden St.

Sam Harris, the eldest of the nine father-son prospects in attendance at 17, said he shared some similarities with his father Daniel, who earned a reputation as a tackling machine in his 149 games for the Roos between 2001-09.

"He's taught me a lot about contest work," Sam said of his dad. "He can find the goals."

Harris is part of the North Melbourne's Academy's Elite Roos program and will be draft-eligible in 2026.

"I'm very excited by what's to come over the next few years," he told NMFC Media.

"Hopefully it's a good journey. It would be a big honour (to play for North Melbourne) and I'm sure I'd do a lot of my family proud if I could do that."
