North Melbourne has finalised its list ahead of the 2026 AFL season, signing defender Tom Blamires during the Supplemental Selection Period (SSP).

The 23-year-old featured in the second half of the Kangaroos’ match simulation against Melbourne last Friday.

Blamires was invited to train with the club during the pre-season following an impressive 2025 VFL campaign with the Frankston Dolphins.

He claimed the 2025 Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medal as the most promising young player in the VFL and was also named at half-back in the VFL Team of the Year.

The list spot became available after Jackson Archer was moved to the club’s inactive list. Archer suffered an ACL injury last month which will see the defender miss the entire 2026 season.

North Melbourne will next take on Collingwood in the AAMI Community Series at Mars Stadium in Ballarat this Sunday at 3.10pm AEDT.
