Colby McKercher and Luke McDonald have both been named in the Kangaroos' team for Sunday's season opener against Port Adelaide at Marvel Stadium.

McKercher underwent minor finger surgery last month but has been cleared to face the Power, while McDonald successfully returned from a wrist injury in a VFL practice match last weekend.

As announced on Wednesday, 2025 draftee Lachy Dovaston and supplemental selection period signing Tom Blamires will make their AFL debuts on Sunday afternoon.

01:28

Dovaston will start on the bench along with McDonald, McKercher, Zane Duursma and Jack Darling.

New skipper Nick Larkey will suit up deep in the forward line, alongside Cam Zurhaar and fourth-gamer Cooper Trembath.

Robert Hansen jnr, Callum Coleman-Jones and Zac Banch are the three emergencies.

Fans are encouraged to be in their seats from 12.45pm on Sunday to see the club reveal its 2026 goal ends, and for pre-game entertainment, including the chance to win a CHiQ TV.

The opening ball-up at Marvel Stadium is scheduled for 1.10pm AEDT.
