Midfielder George Wardlaw will return and young tall Wil Dawson will make his season debut in Saturday's match against Sydney at Marvel Stadium.

The pair are joined by Jacob Konstanty as the Kangaroos' three inclusions for Round 9.

Wardlaw missed last week's trip to Geelong due to illness, while Dawson and Konstanty earned their senior opportunities after performing consistently at VFL level.

Young forward Lachy Dovaston is among the three Kangaroos who make way, having been omitted along with defender Aidan Corr.

Midfielder Tom Powell must wait at least another week to play his milestone 100th AFL game after being sidelined due to groin soreness.

North Melbourne will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the club's 1996 premiership win over Sydney at Saturday afternoon's game, with past greats from the era in attendance.

Cooper Harvey, Matt Whitlock and Zac Banch are the Roos' three emergencies for the match, which begins at 1.15pm.
