Ben Cunnington has moved to second overall in the AFLCA Champion Player Of The Year voting, following another outstanding performance against Collingwood.

A 37-disposal, 7 clearance haul was enough for 9 votes from Rhyce Shaw and Nathan Buckley, as Cunnington moved to 65 votes for the season.

He sits only behind Geelong's Tim Kelly, on 78 votes.

"At what point does the “Ben Cunnington for All-Australian” campaign officially launch?," The Herald Sun said after his efforts on Saturday night.

"After almost certainly adding another three Brownlow votes to his name, the star Kangaroo might finally be about to get the official recognition he deserves.

"The Magpies simply had no answers for Cunnington and at times it looked like there were two No. 10s at Marvel Stadium."

Jy Simpkin played arguably the best game of his career in amassing 30 disposals, 7 inside 50s and a massive 11 clearances.

The number 12 shared the top votes with Cunnington.

Also among the votes, skipper Jack Ziebell, for his 25 disposals and 3 goals, defenders Jasper Pittard and Robbie Tarrant, and on-baller Jed Anderson.
